About The Position

Job Title : Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse

Profession : RN

Specialty : IV Therapy / WOCN

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Monday - Friday

Hours per Shift : 7 : 00 AM - 3 : 30 PM

Experience : Minimum 2 years experience required

License : BSN required

Certifications : WOCN Certification required

Must-Have : Comfortable addressing skin issues for patients in all inpatient units

Description :

Wound, ostomy, and continence nurses are experts in the care of patients with wounds, ostomies, and incontinence.

They respond to the acute and rehabilitative needs of individuals with specific disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary systems.

WOC nurses provide direct care to patients with abdominal stomas, wounds, fistulas, drains, pressure injuries, and / or continence disorders.

As educators, consultants, researchers, and administrators, WOC nurses play a pivotal role in the delivery of optimal patient care.

They practice in various settings, including acute care, long-term care, home health, and outpatient facilities.

Equipment utilized includes Epic EMR and specialized carts for dressing care and ostomy care.

WOC nurses will not float to other departments but will address skin issues for patients across all units, including ICU and Med Surge.

The nurse to patient ratio on this unit is maintained to ensure quality care.

Dress code is scrubs preferred.
