Asbestos Safety Technician – Industrial Hygiene Division
TTI Environmental, Inc. is an integrated environmental services contractor and consulting firm. TTI services government, industrial, commercial, academic, financial, and private clients nationwide and is headquartered in Moorestown, New Jersey. TTI is seeking a full-time Asbestos Safety Technician to join our Industrial Hygiene Division. This is a hybrid position – working in the field with occasional trips to TTI’s Moorestown office. A current NJ AST certification is required for this role.
Asbestos Safety Technician Responsibilities
- Inspection and on-site monitoring for asbestos, mold, lead paint, and indoor air quality
- Conduct detailed surveys for asbestos, lead based paint, right to know, and mold
- Perform air monitoring and contractor oversight during asbestos abatement projects
- Maintain, operate, and calibrate a variety of sampling and monitoring equipment
- Technical report writing and interpretation of analytical data
- Timeliness, time management, ability to meet deadlines, and responsiveness to emergencies is vital
- Assignments are of varying complexity and under direction of a project manager
Asbestos Safety Technician Skills & Qualifications
Current EPA / AHERA Asbestos Building Inspector accreditation preferredLead licenses preferredKnowledge of general building mechanical systems and building constructionHigh School or Mechanical / Trade School DiplomaAssociate or B.S. in Environmental Science preferredExhibit clear, concise verbal and written communication skillsGeneral computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft OfficeIndependent thinking and self-motivation are essentialAsbestos Safety Technician Requirements
New Jersey Asbestos Safety Technician certification is requiredMinimum of 2 years’ relative asbestos experience is requiredAbility to commute to remote sites as neededWillingness to work limited weekends and second shiftAbility to perform field work and meet physical demandsMust be able to carry up to 30 lbs. of equipment and use laddersWillingness to learn, complete training, and obtain various certificationsValid driver’s license and ability to successfully pass a pre-employment screening and physicalMust be a US citizen or legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorshipTTI is a growing and dynamic team environment with excellent benefits and advantages.
