Your Role as a Home Health Occupational Therapist

Here’s a snapshot of what you’ll be doing :

  • Deliver occupational therapy to patients struggling with daily tasks due to illness or injury.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated home health team, including RNs, LPNs, CNAs, HHAs, PTs, and SLPs, to focus on each patient’s care plan and personal goals.
  • Assess patients, identify deficits, set therapy goals, and document progress.
  • Guide patients through exercises to enhance fine motor skills and coordination.
  • Recommend adaptive equipment like grab bars and shower chairs for added support.
  • Evaluate fall risks and implement strategies to enhance home safety.
  • Educate patients and their families on care plans, exercises, goals, and self-care techniques.
  • What We’re Looking For

    To thrive in this role, you’ll need :

  • A degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Program and an active OT license in Michigan.
  • A minimum of 1 year of occupational therapy experience, preferably in home healthcare.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Knowledge of state and federal home health regulations.
  • Strong clinical judgment, excellent interpersonal skills, and a compassionate approach.
