Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented ImportEntry Writer to join our Custom Brokerage team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and submitting customs entry documents, coordinating with customs agents, and ensuring full compliance with U.S. Customs regulations and international trade laws. The ideal candidate will be proactive, highly organized, and able to perform well under pressure while ensuring the timely and lawful entry of goods.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process import and export documentation in compliance with applicable customs laws and regulations.
  • Request, compile, and review import / export documents including ISF filings, customs invoices, certificates of origin, and cargo-control documentation.
  • Verify documentation to determine cargo contents and accurately classify goods according to import / export categories.
  • Monitor and trace the movement and status of shipments to ensure timely clearance and delivery.
  • Coordinate transportation, warehousing, and distribution of imported and exported goods.
  • Communicate with clients, carriers, and customs officials to resolve documentation or compliance issues.
  • Ensure all activities align with company policies and government regulations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Import Entry Writer.
  • Proficiency with Descartes / NetCHB or similar software.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, tariff schedules, and compliance requirements (experience with food & beverage imports preferred).
  • Ability to interpret and apply import / export laws, regulations, and procedures.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage tight deadlines.
  • Conversational proficiency in Mandarin and Cantonese strongly preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelors degree in business or related field preferred.
