Currently, Aurora seeks to hire a full-time Quality Specialist .
Position Summary : Responsible for maintaining, reporting, and advancing our quality management systems, metrics, and quality objectives. This person will work closely within the Quality team to support our ISO 9001 : 2015 quality program by becoming an expert in equipment calibration procedures and measurement system analysis along with test method procedures and development. A successful Quality Specialist will work independently and have keen attention to detail, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and excel in communications with internal and external customers and vendors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Monitor, schedule and track calibration of measurement equipment including those provided by external providers, to ensure calibration status is current and acceptable.Conduct measurement equipment calibration and verification of calibration status.Assess calibration results and trends to determine when measurement equipment needs repairs, servicing, or replacement.Maintain measurement equipment and assist with equipment selection by determining specs and obtaining quotes.Assist with calibration procedure development and improvement of existing calibration procedures.Assist with test method development, adapting standard test methods into our QA lab and troubleshooting existing test methods.Conduct testing procedures during manufacturing processes to ensure product compliance and assist with product development.Conduct physical property testing, visual color analysis, print testing, and analytical chemistry along with other testing procedures.Record and analyze testing and compliance results and make decisions regarding product compliance.Initiate nonconforming product procedures and quarantine nonconforming materials when appropriate. Communicate testing failures and material issues in a timely manner.Generate Certificates of Analysis that summarize testing results and provide to customers as required.Ensure internal and external customer needs are met daily.Additional duties as assigned.Qualifications and Requirements :
Associate’s degree in technology or scientific related field required, Bachelor’s degree helpful.1-5 years of Quality Assurance experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.Calibration experience required.Understanding of ISO 9001 : 2015 requirements as they relate to Quality Management Systems in a manufacturing environment.Analytical minded with a strong attention to detail and strong organizational, multi-tasking, and problem-solving abilities.Ability to work independently with a desire to make an impact on continuous improvement systems.A combination of education and experience may meet the above requirements.Physical Requirements

floor of building – no elevator. Mix of office, lab and manufacturing environments.
