Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN with a current CA license for a day shift Emergency Department (ED) position requiring ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.

Responsibilities

Work in the Emergency Department (ED) of a hospital setting

Cares for patients in an acute care, high-acuity ED environment

Day shift with varied start times (7 : 00am–7 : 00pm or 11 : 00am–11 : 00pm), working three 12-hour shifts per week

Required to work every other weekend

May float to another ED within 3 miles when needed

Uses Epic EMR; Epic experience is preferred

Schedules released in 4-week blocks based on department needs

Responsible for the assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of individualized nursing care in the ED

Engages in patient / family education and facilitates care transitions

Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams and promotes optimal patient experiences

Must not have been employed by the facility within the past year to be eligible as a traveler

Only one holiday off will be approved during the contract term

Additional required modules and e-learning are completed during orientation

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Requirements

Active CA RN license required at the time of consideration

Current AHA certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required

NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required on hire or must be completed during orientation

Minimum of 2 years Emergency Department RN experience required

Must complete Sutter WPV training in person and virtually upon hire

Must be available to complete lab work within 3-5 days after offer acceptance

Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel assignment
