Gold’s Gym is growing fast and looking for a General Manager to help provide world-class service to our clubs and members by utilizing in-depth knowledge of company products and programs. You will cultivate the club's culture by assembling a team committed to our mission, who love helping others reach their goals, and who believe in our community's health and wellness. Responsibilities
- Assemble and manage a fully engaged and high-performing membership team that aligns with company initiatives and culture.
- Ensure that project / department milestones and goals are met and adhere to approved budgets.
- Enforce all club rules, policies and promote proper execution of all procedures.
- Keep the club fully staffed through review of applications, interviewing, and making hiring recommendations to the general manager.
- Drive results and continuous improvement in Service and Fitness categories through strong business acumen, relationship-building, individualized communication, and development and accountability of the department head team.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate execution of daily / weekly / monthly club functions to maximize club profit and loss goals with a member-centric focus.
- Recruit, hire, train, develop and nurture friendly and inclusive team members to support member needs. Place the right team members in roles where they can best impact members’ goals.
- Train, develop, and mentor club leaders through observing, coaching, accountability, and modeling high standards of action.
- Problem-solve obstacles with and for the team to guarantee an outstanding member and team member experience. Create a culture of trust through delegation and empowerment.
- Guide department leaders in establishing goals, applying club strategies, and achieving club and career goals, individually and in groups.
- Cross-train to develop versatile team members who think creatively and become solutions-oriented.
- Instill a sense of common responsibility and teamwork across club functions to maintain a positive member and team member experience, leveraging diverse strengths and experiences.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to grow our member community.
Qualifications (Must Haves)
3-5 years of progressive management experience supervising 3-10 employees with measurable outcomes of employee development and promotion5-7 years of broad retail / hospitality / operations experience with high execution in both operations and service and with focus on turnoverExperience managing P&L and trend reports with strong numerical and analytical skillsProven success in creating or rebuilding teams in a collaborative environmentExcellent communication skills, both oral and written, with strong listening abilitiesExperience turning around operationally and / or financially deficient departments or teamsDemonstrated success managing through defined strategy and delegationHigh School diploma or equivalent required; a Bachelor’s degree preferredCPR and AED certification requiredBilingual preferredThis role requires the ability to move and lift up to 25 lbs. Standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods of time and maintaining a professional demeanor with a clean uniform.
