job_description.job_card.job_descriptionBe familiar with and follow the Cantera Concrete Staff Organization document for managing projects Report project hours and quantities on a timely basis Maintain working relationships with internal and external clients, including representatives of Owner and Architect / Engineer Using computer software to plan and design projects Research best practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data and use continuous process improvement disciplines to achieve results Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products Monitor costs, including labor time and material Review Daily Work Reports Attend and participate in project meetings Summarize weekly and monthly reports Developing construction project budgets Reviews and understands the construction document drawings Create and maintain submittal and correspondence logs Prepared / processed budgets, change orders, submittals, RFI’s, RFC’s and field memos Verify payroll against daily schedule for field personnel for accuracy of hours and pay classes Other duties as assigned Broad understanding of concrete construction experience Computer and mobile device knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products, Field Time and other products used by the Company Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate with all levels, both internally and externally Functions effectively as part of a team Exhibits strong leadership qualities Strong decision making / problem solving skills Excellent time management and organizational skills; able to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines Able to perform duties independently Strong attention to detail Works well under pressure and with deadlines Can follow rules but can show initiative Enjoys overcoming objections / resistance and achieving goals in the face of obstacles Works on site over rough terrain Requires overtime hours Often exposed to the elements Must be comfortable with travel on a need-to-need basis Must be able to lift 70 lbs. Some weekends are required Frequent activity of Standing, Kneeling, Walking, Climbing, Bending, reaching above Shoulders, Pushing and Pulling Must be able to climb and work at heights above 6 feet Associates degree with one (1) year of concrete construction experience Two (2) years construction experience Two (2) years concrete experience OSHA 10 OSHA 30 First Aid CPR
POSITION SUMMARY :
The Project Engineer is responsible for the liaison between project managers, superintendents, site engineers, and clients on construction projects, providing technical and administrative information to all parties involved in the project. This position must demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills, as well as have effective communication and client service skills.
