Responsibilities Work in a pediatric critical care float pool within a hospital setting Float between PICU, CTICU, and Level IV NICU units with responsibilities across a 24-bed PICU, 30-bed CTICU, and 60-bed NICU Patients include critically ill infants and children with complex heart, lung, and medical conditions Shift schedule consists of 3x12 hour variable shifts, including 4-5 weekend day shifts and 5-6 weekend night shifts per schedule cycle Required to work 2 out of 3 major holidays, including eves On-call responsibilities are required Epic EMR is used; prior Epic experience required Role involves providing specialized care for critically ill pediatric and neonatal patients in multiple intensive care environments Must be comfortable floating within hospital units and to satellite locations as needed for NICU Mileage reimbursement is provided when floating to NICU satellite locations, requiring manager approval Must complete non-billable pre-start modules prior to orientation RTO is limited to 6 days and must not interfere with working 3 shifts per week Permanent staff must wait one year to return as travelers Free parking is available for travelers Any scrub color is permitted Not open to local candidates within a 50-mile radius Requirements Active CA RN license required Minimum 2 years of PICU experience or a strong CVICU background with float experience BLS and PALS certifications required Flu shot required Epic EMR experience required First-time travelers are accepted Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-612573.
