Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Midwest region as an Emergency Department RN Educator. This role is dedicated to fostering professional growth and ensuring clinical excellence among emergency care staff. You will design, implement, and assess educational programs that keep nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals current with best practices, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive orientation programs for emergency department personnel, including nurses, technicians, coordinators, and agency staff.
  • Lead ongoing training sessions covering emergency protocols, clinical procedures, and new medical equipment.
  • Facilitate certification and continuing education courses such as ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, BLS, and MANDT.
  • Organize simulation-based training and drills for critical care scenarios in partnership with simulation coordinators.
  • Assess clinical competencies through direct observation and skill validation, providing tailored coaching as needed.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of protocols for trauma, stroke, cardiac, and sepsis care.
  • Stay informed on the latest advancements in emergency medicine to maintain departmental excellence.
  • Collaborate with leadership on quality improvement initiatives and workflow enhancements to optimize patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Serve as a clinical resource, offering guidance on challenges and evidence-based practices.
  • Participate actively in patient safety and quality improvement programs.

Education

Registered Nurse (RN) license required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Experience

Minimum of 3-5 years in emergency nursing; prior experience in nursing education, staff development, or clinical instruction is advantageous.

Licensure and Certifications

Current RN license in the practicing state. Certifications required include BLS, ACLS, TNCC, ENPC, and NIHSS. Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) credential is a plus.

Mental and Physical Requirements

This position demands significant mental focus and physical activity, including lifting up to 35 lbs, standing, walking, and various movements such as stooping and reaching.

Working Conditions

Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases; occasional encounters with hostile individuals may occur. Schedule is primarily Monday through Friday with potential evening or weekend hours based on training needs.
