A forward-thinking city in Ventura County is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead high-impact capital infrastructure projects —with a focus on water and wastewater systems . This is a hybrid leadership role , requiring approximately 75% on-site presence to provide hands-on oversight and team leadership. Engineering Manager Responsibilities :
- Direct planning, design, and execution of water / wastewater and public works capital projects
- Lead, mentor, and manage engineering staff to ensure accountability and performance
- Represent the City in public forums including City Council, Planning, and Traffic Commissions
- Coordinate with internal departments and external agencies to streamline project delivery
- Promote sustainability, innovation, and continuous improvement in engineering operations
Engineering Manager Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; PE license preferredMinimum 7 years of relevant experience, ideally within a public agency settingProven leadership in managing complex infrastructure and capital improvement programsStrong understanding of regulatory compliance, asset management, and water / wastewater systemsComfortable being on-site approximately 75% of the time to lead operations and engage stakeholdersEngineering Manager Compensation :
