Description :
Must be flexible with work hours to meet department needs.

Assists in providing safe, age-appropriate care by performing all exams according to procedures.
Possesses the knowledge and ability to obtain quality diagnostic studies safely.
Responsibilities include performing a wide range of technical procedures requiring independent judgment.
Sets up equipment for imaging service and positions patients for procedures.
Works with students during their clinical rotations.
Obtains complete clinical history and assesses for contraindicating conditions.
Follows established procedures for administration of contrast media to prevent patient deterioration.
Ensures studies have proper patient identification and markers are utilized appropriately.
Reviews radiographic images and releases patients upon seeing clinically acceptable results.
Responds to emergency situations and provides for the restocking of equipment.
Assists other technologists in all modalities as needed.
Observes patient condition and evaluates situations for potential physician intervention.
Verifies two unique patient identifiers and correct clinical order prior to procedures.
Ensures patients’ privacy and comfort are maintained.
Demonstrates competence in selecting appropriate procedures and techniques based on patient age.
Organizes schedule and priorities to accomplish required activities.
Uses critical thinking skills and asks clarifying questions when necessary.
Understands and documents preprocedural verification and Time Out processes.
Preps patients for procedures and demonstrates sterile technique as necessary.
Maintains competency with venipuncture where applicable.
Demonstrates ability to adjust techniques to ensure lowest possible radiation dose while maintaining image quality.
Reports equipment malfunctions to supervisors for timely corrections.
Cleans, disinfects, and maintains equipment according to infection control policies.
Demonstrates ability to operate all aspects of radiographic systems safely and competently.
Explains purpose and nature of exams to patients to minimize anxiety.
Addresses patient questions and concerns adequately, notifying physicians when necessary.
Participates in the orientation and training of departmental staff.
Provides patients with preparatory instructions and explanations of procedures.
Ensures documentation is concise, legible, and includes precise terminology.
Completes mandatory education activities without prompting.
Produces high-quality images with appropriate collimation, shielding, and technique selection.
Ensures equipment is operational prior to use by checking for calibration and deficiencies.
Sends studies to appropriate systems and checks prior exams for accuracy.
Restocks linens and supplies, maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
Transports and positions patients on procedure tables.
Performs patient charging activities on the service date.
Applies shielding and immobilization devices and assists others as needed.
Performs clerical duties to ensure continuity of services.
Keeps supervisors informed of all relevant responsibilities.
Maintains productivity comparable to other staff.
Adheres to regulatory standards.
Takes call when necessary.
Performs other duties as assigned.
