English Learner / EL Teacher

The role is for the 2025-2026 School Year, located at Milford High School, with a salary per Teachers' Contract, to start on October 27, 2025.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts certification as a teacher in ESL (5-12), required
• Working knowledge of the Massachusetts Core-Content Frameworks and WIDA 2020 ELD Standards
• Knowledge of second language learning and sheltering content, Massachusetts standards-based ESL Model Curriculum Units (MCUs), standard and alternative methods of assessment, and data-driven instruction
• WIDA ACCESS Test Administrator : Online
• Demonstrated ability to co-teach in the SEI classroom : coursework and / or experience in co-planning, co-teaching, co-assessment, and co-reflection with a Sheltered Content Immersion (SCI) core-academic teacher
• Extensive coursework completion in teaching reading / literacy skills to students at the high school level
• Experience working with Students with Limited and / or Interrupted Formal Education (SLIFE) and English learner-students with disabilities (ELSWD)
• Training and experience in Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
• Excellent computer / technology skills with the ability to utilize various computer software and app programs
• Committed to the vision of high expectations for achievement, equal access to high levels of instruction, the achievement of academic and linguistic proficiency for all students, and the closing of the achievement gap
• A self-reflective, active learner capable of interactive dialogue with all members of the school community
• A positive person, willing to become involved in the academic and social aspects of school life
• Bilingual Proficiency (Spanish and / or Portuguese), preferred
• Completion of the 2-hour online Language Ambassador Training Course, certificate required upon hire
