More Than Words (MTW) is a nonprofit social enterprise that empowers youth who are in the foster care system, court involved, homeless, or out of school to take charge of their lives by taking charge of a business. By working as a team to manage their own retail and online used book business and community space, youth develop the employment skills, leadership, and self-confidence they need to successfully transition to adulthood.

The Opportunity

TheAdmissions Coordinator is a creative, highly motivated, and detail-oriented person who supports our ACE department with the admissions process for youth entering the Readiness phase of MTW and support community engagement activities outside the walls of MTW and hosting community engagement events with referral partners on site.The Admissions Coordinator will report to the Admissions and Community Manager.

Key responsibilities include :

• Support initial conversations with prospective new youth to learn about MTW
• Support second interviews for perspective new youth with ACE managers
• Support on site and virtual tours
• Attend community events with ACE managers and youth to serve as Ambassador for MTW
• Support ACE manager in Readiness work with new youth
• Leading community engagement events and representing MTW in the community

Position Requirements :

Schedule : Maximum of 29 hours per week; exact daysand times to be discussed with your supervisor. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be scheduled in advance on mutual agreement for events or presentations. This is a 6-month position, with the potential to renew after evaluating at the end of the 6-month period.

Compensation : $22.00 per hour.
