APEX Placement and Consulting has partnered with an exciting company in Shelby Township, MI looking to add a CNC Set Up Technician to their already amazing team. Their primary responsibility will be to set up, run, and improve CNC turning and milling operations to keep production efficient and high quality. Keep reading for more details!

401KPaid vacationWhat your day will look like :
Provide comprehensive support for all CNC turning and milling production activities.Perform setups and changeovers for various production parts.Upload and maintain the latest CNC programs on the company server (as designated by Engineering), ensuring databases are current, organized by cell / job number, and obsolete programs are properly archived.Implement and recommend process improvements to reduce cycle times, tooling costs, and scrap rates; share improvements across all shifts.Monitor tool wear, report deviations from expected performance, and recommend adjustments to tool life standards.Write, implement, and maintain lathe gantry programs.Manage and maintain CNC lathe tooling, including ordering spare parts as required.Perform and assist with preventative maintenance and routine machine / tooling inspections.Train team members in CNC turning and milling operations to strengthen skills and ensure consistent quality.What we are looking for :
High school diploma or equivalent7+ years of CNC machining experienceSkilled with Fanuc CNC controls and program edits (M & G code)Strong knowledge of tooling, offsets, and setup (lathe, chuck, collet, bar, inserts)Able to check runout, perform setups, and read CMM reportsProficient with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, depth mics, etc.)Experienced in reading blueprints and technical drawingsHands-on experience with Murata lathes and VMCsAt Apex, we actively encourage applications from underrepresented groups.
