Underground Utility Locator – Vannguard Utility Partners, Inc.

Salary : $21.00 per hour

Location : Multiple locations (Denver, Thornton, CO area) - Outdoor work

Job Type : Full-time

This position involves working outdoors to locate underground cables, pipes and other utilities to prevent damages and ensure safety within the excavation, landscaping and construction community. The role includes driving a company vehicle to job sites, using computer utility maps and locating equipment, and communicating findings to excavation personnel and authorities. A commitment to safety, the ability to work independently, and attention to detail are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Drive a company vehicle from home to job sites in response to routine ticket requests, emergencies, and relocations.
  • Utilize mapping tools and locating equipment to locate underground utilities (electric, gas, telephone, and other lines).
  • Indicate utility locations using paint and flags and communicate information to excavation personnel or authorities.
  • Respond to after-hours emergency call-outs according to the rotation schedule.

  • Valid driver's license in applicable state of employment
  • Ability to work overtime when duties require it
  • Will be subject to Vannguard's Drug-Free Workplace Program and pre-employment drug screening
  • Able to self-manage and communicate with supervisors and clients in a timely manner

    • Experience

  • Computer skills : 1 year (Preferred)
  • Utility locating : 1 year (Preferred)

    • Physical Demands

  • Drive 50 to 300+ miles daily as required by the locating area
  • Get in and out of a vehicle 50+ times a day
  • Stand and walk long distances over uneven terrain in all weather
  • Sit for long periods while driving
  • Lift and / or move 50 to 150 pounds
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions
