The Opportunity

  • This is a remote position open to candidates residing in the New Haven, CT area
  • Must be willing to commit to extensive travel to manage a territory within Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine

As a Regional Business Development Manager ("RBDM") at A-SAFE, you'll be responsible for managing and growing A-SAFE's customer base within a designated region. This role involves developing and maintaining strong relationships with key accounts, identifying new business opportunities, and achieving sales targets. The ideal candidate will have excellent account management skills, a proven sales track record, and a deep understanding of the industrial safety sector.

The RBDM will be assigned a specific geographic patch and will be assigned sites and / or accounts within that territory (circa 80-160 sites).

In This Role, You Will

  • Take overall responsibility for upselling / cross selling with existing customer base within the designated territory, and for growing the pipeline.
  • Identify appropriate solution for customer based on requirements and observations and pull together proposal for presentation.
  • Conduct follow-up meetings with customers to present proposals either face-to-face or online if necessary.
  • Make further recommendations where required in response to customer feedback.
  • Work collaboratively with Sales Project Coordinator function to prepare the proposal.
  • Work collaboratively with CSM function to ensure seamless service level to customers.
  • Work collaboratively with New Business Development Managers in closing handover phase for new category regional clients.
  • Work collaboratively with Key Account Managers and Major Account Managers providing support where required across Key and Major customers.
  • Conduct regular account management meetings with stakeholder to maintain strong customer relationships either face-to-face or online if necessary.
  • Ensure all internal systems (CRM) and databases are updated in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Actively participate in internal and external meetings where attendance is required.

  • The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • A clean, valid U.S. driving license
  • A proven track record in a skilled account developer sales role.
  • A proven track record of identifying key stakeholders and establishing strong working relationships.
  • The ability to overcome objections and identify solutions to help secure the sale, while remaining diplomatic and trustworthy at all times.
  • Strong prioritization skills and strong commercial awareness.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills (written and oral), with the ability to adjust style to the audience.
  • IT literate and working knowledge of CRM systems
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • A proven track record of sales negotiations and closing deals
  • Previous experience of the industry and working knowledge of the new-build process is a plus!
