Tax Manager

Salary Range : $120,000 - $135,000

Location : Rochester, Michigan

Position Overview

We are seeking a high-performing Tax Manager with an active CPA or EA credential to lead and grow within our tax practice. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, is passionate about client service, and is looking for a clear path to leadership based on results and initiative.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage tax compliance for individuals, partnerships, and corporations (Forms 1040, 1120S, 1120, etc.).
Provide strategic tax planning and consulting services, especially in real estate and non-profit sectors.
Review and sign off on tax returns prepared by staff, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current tax laws.
Represent clients during audits and correspondence with federal and state tax authorities.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor.
Stay current on tax law changes and proactively communicate implications to clients and team members.
Collaborate across departments to ensure seamless financial and tax reporting.
Mentor junior staff and contribute to their professional development.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Active CPA or EA license required.

Minimum of 5 years of public accounting experience , with a focus on tax.

Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations.

Experience with tax software (e.g., QuickBooks, ProConnect, UltraTax, etc.).

Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Experience in real estate and non-profit tax matters is a plus.
