Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) - Instructor, PALS
Must-Have : Experience in ENT, GYN, UROLOGY, GENERAL, ROBOTICS, PLASTIC, MINOR ORTHOPEDIC. Experience with adult and pediatric patients.
Description :
The RN Clinical Periop Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team.
They ensure that patients and significant others receive individualized, high-quality, safe patient care.
They practice in a clinical environment administered by Nurse Managers and supported by governance models.
The framework for practice is guided by a Professional Practice Model, 5-Star Nursing, and evidence-based practice.
RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by Core Competencies.
All RN Clinical Nurses are licensed and knowledgeable, upholding the practice of nursing.
They implement the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the American Nurses Association.
As a member of the patient services team, individuals uphold the voice of the patient while supporting service excellence goals.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions :
The RN performs the Nursing Process : assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Care is individualized and coordinated through effective partnerships.
Relationship-based patient-centered care is provided, consistent with population-specific characteristics.
They partner with the patient and significant others, using appropriate methods for setting and purpose.
The RN practices using current clinical practice standards.
Teamwork and Collaboration :
The RN coordinates the delivery and documentation of safe quality patient care.
This includes diverse and inclusive interdisciplinary communication methods.
They demonstrate teamwork and collaboration, practicing in a fiscally responsible manner.
Participation in performance improvement activities is expected.
They support and participate in shared governance at all levels.
Professional Development and Initiative :
The RN completes all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments.
They serve as a preceptor or mentor for other professional nurses and staff.
Evidence-Based Practice and Research :
The RN promotes evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement.
They uphold organizational policies, legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
Participation in data collection and addressing clinical questions is expected.
Resources and Support :
The RN proactively plans for the care of patients across the care continuum.
They participate in the development of protocols and procedures.
Supporting efficient and effective use of resources is essential.
Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
