Work location : Texas Health HEB, 1600 Hospital Parkway Bedford, TX 76022

Work hours : PRN Level III / per diem, Night Shift 6 : 30 PM – 6 : 30 AM; minimum requirement : 6 shift / per 6-week schedule, 2 weekend shift / per 6-week schedule, 1 major / 2 minor holiday requirement

L&D Department Highlights

  • Work environment : The Siratt Women's Center at Texas Health Hurst Euless Bedford (HEB) Hospital has a PRN opportunity for an experienced Labor and Delivery (L&D) RN.
  • 9 bed L&D unit and 4 bed OB ED, 3 OR suites unit with an average of 200 deliveries a month
  • Level II NICU
  • Maternal Designation III
  • Wide range of patients and plan of care – nitrous oxide, midwifery, and high-risk patients

Here's What You Need

  • Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred
  • RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
  • ACLS – within 90 days of hire
  • NRP – within 90 days of hire
  • NRPA - within 90 days of hire
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training - within 90 days of hire
  • 1 Year experience as a Registered Nurse required
  • 1 year of RN experience in L&D strongly preferred

    • What You Will Do

    Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

  • Assesses the patient
  • Plans the care of the patient
  • Intervenes as appropriate
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporates age specific safety / infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and / or significant others need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
