Key Job Details – Med / Surg Tele RN Jobs in Plattsburgh, NY Location : Plattsburgh, NY 12901 (New York healthcare jobs) Position : Travel Med / Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) Setting : Resource Pool – Float to R5 (Oncology), R6 (Ortho), R7 (Urology / ALC), and other telemetry units Assignment Length : 16 weeks (potential extension up to 32 weeks) Shift : 12-hour night shifts Shift Duration : 12-hour night shifts Hours per Week : 36 Start Date : December 29, 2025 Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend Holiday Requirement : Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas / Christmas Eve, New Year's Day / Eve) Documentation System : EPIC (recent experience required) Orientation : 1 day Registered Nurse Qualifications Active New York RN license (or proof of application with applied date) Minimum 1 year of recent clinical experience as a Registered Nurse At least 1 year of experience in Med / Surg Telemetry nursing American Heart Association BLS certification (required) NIH Stroke Scale certification (required prior to start) CMSRN certification preferred EPIC documentation experience within the past 2 years (required) Reliable personal or rental vehicle (public transportation not available) Ability to float to multiple hospital units as scheduled Med / Surg Tele RN Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients (ages 25-99) in Med / Surg Telemetry units Float between Oncology, Orthopedics, Urology / ALC, and other telemetry units as needed Care for ED Hold patients as assigned Perform unit-specific procedures : IV insertions, bladder scans, blood draws from central lines, glucose monitoring Accurately document patient care in EPIC Collaborate with CNAs, PCTs, unit clerks, and ancillary healthcare staff Maintain professional appearance (navy blue & white scrubs, solid colors) Participate in scheduled rotations, including weekends and holidays Adhere to hospital protocols and patient safety standards Discover the charm of Plattsburgh, NY—enjoy lakeside activities, vibrant local culture, and easy access to the Adirondacks.
