This position is a member of our Water Supply Division.
Responsibilities
- Conducts in office and / or on-site engineering and technical reviews, analyses, quality control and evaluations of routine to complex information from internal and external customers to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures; and follows up with appropriate actions.
- Provides information and engineering assistance concerning requests and submittals from public water systems to internal and external customers through verbal communication, email, correspondence, meetings, on-site assistance, and presentations.
- Provides customer service to internal and external customers related to the agency's drinking water program through verbal and written communication, correspondence, reports, meetings, presentations, and responses to Public Information Requests (PIRs).
- Assists with training, including mentoring staff with less experience. Develops and applies engineering and regulatory expertise to serve as a subject matter expert for assigned programs / topics.
- Participates in special projects, such as serving as an owner of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and working on Section / Division business process improvement projects.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE : Texas Professional Engineer's license plus one year of full-time engineering experience beyond licensure. Qualifying work experience includes that obtained post licensure as an engineering graduate student or teacherTRANSCRIPT / COLLEGE HOURS or COURSE WORK : See instructions on how to attach documents. A copy of your official college transcript or evaluation of foreign credentials in CAPPS is required if needed to meet the qualifications listed above.CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEES : This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within the Engineer II state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the Engineer II series.Work Schedule & Benefits
Work Schedule : Standard business hours are M-F, 8 : 00 a.m. - 5 : 00 p.m. Individual and work group schedule determined by the TCEQ Headquarters.
