Description :
The Class A Driver is responsible for performing scheduled pick-up and delivery operations along assigned routes, as well as any additional drop-off or pick-up locations as needed. This role requires a valid Class A driver’s license, a minimum of two years’ experience operating a tractor-trailer and transporting hazardous materials, a clean DMV record with no major at-fault accidents or commercial speeding violations, a current medical card, and proven experience navigating city routes in all weather conditions. Light material handling, including loading and unloading the truck, is required. The position operates in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment where a strong sense of urgency and commitment to customer service are essential. Forklift experience and / or previous certification is a strong plus.

Responsibilities and Duties :
- Perform daily vehicle inspections, fueling, and securement of cargo in compliance with DOT and federal cargo safety requirements (e.g., tarping, strapping, chaining as needed)
- Maintain accurate records, including driver logs and delivery documentation
- Execute assigned delivery routes and assist with additional pick-ups or drop-offs as needed
- Support route coverage in the absence of other drivers and assist with loadouts to ensure safe and efficient operations
- Communicate any route delays, safety concerns, or vehicle issues promptly to the supervisor
- Keep assigned vehicle and terminal work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
- Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and commitment to customer service.
- Apply knowledge of DOT regulations and HAZMAT safety procedures
- Safe driving practices in all weather and traffic conditions
- Contribute to route planning and adjustments based on traffic, weather, and operational needs
- Other duties as assigned
Abilities :

High school diploma or equivalentValid Class A driver’s license (CDL) with HAZMAT endorsementClean driving record with no major violations2-3 years of experience transporting hazardous waste / chemicalsStrong math, writing, and verbal communication skillsCustomer-focused with a commitment to quality serviceExcellent time management and organizational skillsHigh attention to detail and accuracyIntermediate computer proficiency : Microsoft Office Suite required, SAP experience a plusWorking knowledge of logistics, shipping, receiving, and transportation operationsFamiliarity with LEAN principles, including 5S and 7S executionKnowledge of inventory control practicesExperience with handheld RF equipment (preferred)Comfortable using light power tools when necessaryForklift experience and / or previous certification preferredUnderstanding of DOT regulations and compliance standardsRK Qualities
