Title : Special Education Teacher

Location : Washington, DC

Pay Rate : $50–$55+ per hour (based on experience)

As a K-12 school-based Special Education Teacher in Washington, DC,

your days will include :

Developing and delivering individualized instruction based on IEP goals

Writing IEPs, progress reports, and measurable student goals

Managing classroom behavior with positive supports and interventions

Collaborating with general education teachers, related service providers, and families

Facilitating and participating in IEP meetings and parent conferences

Maintaining compliance with IDEA, state, and district regulations

Job Details

Position : Contract (option to renew) in a school setting

Hours : Full-time, 35 hours / week

Caseload : Two openings

Self-Contained Math Teacher (Grades 9–12, 8–10 students, OHI / SLD)

9th Grade ELA Co-Teacher (Caseload 8–10 students, co-teach model)

Contract Dates : ASAP start – June 15, 2026

Onsite Only : No hybrid / remote options

Successful Candidates Possess

An active or pending DC Special Education Teacher licensure, or the ability to obtain (required)

Prior experience writing IEPs, setting goals, and leading meetings (preferred)

Strong classroom management and differentiation skills

Experience in a pediatric or school setting (preferred)

The ability to work in the U.S. without a sponsor
