Senior Accountant

Location : Branford, CT - 100% onsite

Salary : $100-115k + 15% bonus

Responsibilities of Senior Accountant :

  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes in accordance with PCAOB U.S. GAAP.
  • Lead the preparation of financial filings with the SEC and other regulatory agencies as necessary, notably forms 10K and 10Q
  • Support Current Expected Credit Loss (CECL) modeling, documentation, and reporting.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and support schedules.
  • Reconcile loan portfolios and related interest income, fees, and reserves.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including cash, debt, and equity activity.
  • Assist with internal controls, documentation and implementation of process improvements.
  • Collaborate with the treasury function on cash flow forecasting and liquidity reporting.
  • Support external auditors with audit requests and quarterly review procedures.
  • Participate in ad-hoc financial analyses and special projects as needed.
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience
  • CPA / MBA is a plus, but not required.
  • Minimum 3-6 years of accounting experience, ideally with a mix of public accounting and corporate experience.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP; experience with loan accounting, CECL methodology, and fair value measurements preferred.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise (specifically ASC standards and SEC regulations)
  • Proficient in Excel and accounting systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, QuickBooks, or similar).
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a small, high-performing team environment.
