POSITION SUMMARY / PURPOSE

Plans, controls, schedules, and provides leadership to achieve quality problem solutions, quality cost reduction, and customer satisfaction by reporting quality status and analyzing defective products, consistent with established standards. This is achieved by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate team leaders.

KEY JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs product quality analysis of customer and internal reported concerns to determine failure mode, potential root cause(s), and appropriate interim and permanent corrective actions.
  • Provides direction to internal / external departments regarding initial containment and product verification activities.
  • Reports problem resolution status, updates, and tracking in both internal and external (online) problem reporting systems.
  • Keeps management team informed of significant issues or developments identified during customer build activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.
  • Supports and / or maintains quality assurance objectives aligned with corporate policies and goals.
  • Utilizes Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) approach to assist analysis as required.
  • Interprets production specifications to confirm analysis.
  • Develops and maintains work instructions for quality assurance processes.
  • Provides analysis reports to support customer failure analysis.
  • Coordinates the preparation of monthly customer quality reports.
  • Maintains test equipment and calibration programs as assigned.
  • Develops and maintains strong working relationships with key customer contacts.
  • Participates in customer meetings and reports the status of open issues to appropriate internal / external entities.
  • Communicates problem resolution status and plans to key customer management team members.
  • Conducts dealer scramble activities if required.
  • Performs continuous improvement activities (Kaizen).

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / LICENSE / CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BSME, BSEE, BSIE, etc.) or higher.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience with APQP in a Tier 1 automotive electronics facility.
  • Understanding of customer and internal quality standards and technical documents.
  • Experience auditing internal manufacturing processes and performing follow-up (PFU) with successful problem resolution.
  • Ability to understand master schedules, develop detailed plans, and facilitate cross-functional communication and meetings.
  • Ability to provide situation reports to management.
  • Experience in problem resolution.
  • Willingness to travel frequently (80-100%), including to Reynosa, Mexico, and other domestic and international locations as needed.
  • Proficiency in English (business level, written and spoken) and Spanish (required).
  • Knowledge of Japanese is a plus but not mandatory.
