Lean Manufacturing Engineer – 2nd Shift (Manassas, VA)
Base pay range : $45.00 / hr - $52.00 / hr
We are looking for a Lean Manufacturing Engineer - Robotics for a global aerospace company. In this role, you will have a strong background in designing and optimizing manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts, with a focus on high-volume, low-mix manufacturing environments. Design and optimize manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handling. This is a 12-month contract (extensions are likely), a 40-hour-per-week role, and an on-site position in Manassas, VA. This is a W-2 role as a Stage 4 Solutions employee. Health benefits and 401K are offered. Must be able to work 2nd Shift.
Responsibilities
- Design and optimize manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handling
- Design arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout
- Design sequence of operations and specify procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment, and other functions that affect product performance
- Adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions
- Incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan
- Inspect the performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigate and initiate corrective action for problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality
- Develop manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques
- Provide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques
- Ensure processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement, and implement robotic automation solutions as needed
- Program and integrate industrial robots (such as Fanuc and Epson) with existing manufacturing systems, utilizing PLC programming expertise
- Optimize and maintain automated production lines to ensure maximum uptime and throughput, while maintaining high-quality standards
Qualifications
