About The Position
Job Title : MRI Technologist

License : ARRT Radiography registration required
Certifications : ARRT MRI registration required, Approved CPR or BLS certification required
Must-Have : Graduate of an accredited radiography program
Description :
Performs MRI procedures and related techniques to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation.
May require occasional weekend shifts and participation in on-call and holiday rotations.
Various shifts available : 5 - 8 hour shifts from 8 a.m. to 4 : 30 p.m.; 4 - 10 hour shifts from 8 a.m. to 6 : 30 p.m.; 3 - 12 hour shifts from 8 a.m. to 8 : 30 p.m. or 9 a.m. to 9 : 30 p.m.
Works as part of a multidisciplinary team, serving on committees and participating in projects.
Performs procedures or examinations under the order of a licensed medical practitioner for diagnostic interpretation.
Prepares patients for procedures and provides instruction to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
Applies principles of magnetic resonance safety to minimize risk to patients, self, and others.
Selects and operates the magnetic resonance system, surface coils, and associated equipment to achieve desired results.
Positions the patient and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability, safety, and comfort.
Immobilizes patients as required for appropriate examinations.
Selects appropriate pulse sequences considering established protocols and other factors influencing data acquisition parameters.
Performs venipuncture, starts and maintains venous access, and prepares and administers contrast media.
Verifies consent and screening forms using appropriate scripting, barriers, and identifiers.
Assists the physician with interventional procedures practicing aseptic technique and observing universal precautions.
Evaluates images and data for technical quality and manipulates digital data for display, ensuring proper identification is evident.
Assumes responsibility for provision of physical and psychological needs of patients during procedures.
Uses radiology information systems, completes all required records and reports, archives, and submits images for physician review and interpretation.
Initiates basic life support action when necessary.
Provides practical instruction to partners and students.
