About The Position
Job Title : Cardiovascular Technologist Lead

Experience : Minimum 3 years of experience with Cardiac Catheterization procedures required.
License : Medical Radiologist Technologist (MRT) required
Certifications : Registry from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (RCIS) or (RCES) required. BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications required.
Must-Have :
Experience in a Cardiac Catheterization lab preferred.
Experience with acute and critical patients.
XPER and EPIC experience preferred.
Description :
This position is responsible for the overall quality of care provided by the cardiovascular technologists of the department.
Plans, coordinates, directs, and controls the work performed by the cardiovascular technologists.
Performs standard and complex cardiovascular diagnostic procedures.
Works directly with cardiologists to meet the specific requirements of the cardiac catheterization laboratory.
Coordinates the daily activities of all cardiovascular technologists.
Assists with formulating clinical policies and procedures pertaining to the cardiac catheterization lab.
Responsible for daily supply and charge reconciliation.
Oversees inventory to ensure adequate par levels.
Takes personal responsibility to ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and standards.
Prepares the cardiac catheterization lab, compiles patient information, pertinent paperwork, and charges.
Obtains informative, accurate, and concise needs from the patient.
Ensures patient comfort and explains the procedure.
Answers questions concerning the procedure in a caring and professional manner.
Maintains patient dignity and confidentiality at all times.
Adheres to AIDET training competency.
Assists the physician prior to and during a procedure by setting up necessary supplies and equipment on a sterile field.
Passes instruments, catheters, contrast media, and other supplies without breaking the sterile field.
Maintains equipment and instruments through proper cleaning, troubleshooting, and servicing.
Confirms the correct patient is attended to and that orders are documented before a procedure starts.
Ensures the consent form is correctly filled out and a "Time Out" is performed prior to the procedure.
Validates data obtained by reviewing the plan of care with attending nursing and medical staff.
Operates electronic monitoring to monitor, record, and assist in interpreting patient EKG and hemodynamics during procedures.
Operates angiographic equipment competently to produce high-quality studies.
Assists in scheduling patients for procedures, ensuring all supplies and equipment are available.
Maintains physiologic and hemodynamic equipment.
Notifies management of needed supplies.
Functions as a scrub technician for cardiac procedures adhering to aseptic and sterile technique.
Demonstrates competence to perform assigned patient care responsibilities in a manner that meets the specific needs of patients.
Adapts patient assessment and care methods to accommodate the needs of each patient served.
Demonstrates the ability to perform emergency procedures safely and effectively.
Utilizes clinical experience to anticipate potential patient problems or emergencies.
May be required to work on-call and respond within a predetermined time frame.
Performs other duties as assigned.
