Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a fast-paced Med / Surg Ortho unit, requiring at least one year of RN experience and recent orthopedic experience.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a Med / Surg Ortho unit with 36 beds on the 4th floor
  • Patient population consists of adults and geriatrics, with a high volume of spine cases
  • Nurse to patient ratio of 1 : 5-6, subject to change based on staffing
  • Night shifts with every other weekend and major holiday required
  • Candidates must be willing to float to other Med / Surg or Tele (Oncology) units as needed
  • Uses Alaris pumps and Hercules beds
  • Additional documentation may be required
  • Navy or white scrubs required
  • Fast-paced environment with frequent admissions and one-day discharges on night shift
  • Patient population includes adults and geriatrics, mainly spine cases
  • Pass / fail EKG testing will be conducted on the first day
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Team supports admissions and discharges during night shifts

  • Active VA or compact RN license required
  • Minimum of 1 year RN experience required
  • Recent orthopedic nursing experience required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Must pass a dysrhythmia (EKG) exam, with two attempts allowed and study guides available
  • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
  • Willingness to work night shifts, every other weekend, and major holidays
