Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant to proficiently support our Legal Advocacy Team (LAT). Under the supervision of the Legal Services Director, the ideal candidate will perform the assigned drafting of both legal and non-legal correspondence and documents; schedule depositions and meetings; maintain intake-related correspondence and documentation; maintain the LAT filing system; assist with maintaining the client database, and perform additional duties that are necessary for the professional and well-organized operation of our LAT.

Responsibilities and Duties
Responsible for the drafting, preparing, and notarizing of legal documents such as briefs, memorandums, pleadings, interrogatories, subpoenas, and the production of additional legal documents, as indicated by the supervising attorney.
Responsible for the arranging of depositions, scheduling of meetings, and conducting communication with legal parties, as indicated by the supervising attorney.
Responsible for assisting with the proofing of legal, non-legal, and intake-related documentation and correspondence, as needed.
Responsible for the preparation of routine intake documents and correspondence, as indicated by the associated intake staff member or supervising attorney.
Responsible for maintaining the LATs physical filing systems, with a focus on ensuring the integrity of agency and client data.
Responsible for the entering, updating, and maintaining all intake and client information in the LATs database for service requests.
Responsible for the timely opening and closing of all legal cases and non-legal service requests both in our database and physical format.
Responsible for the timely opening and closing of all monitoring visit projects in the database and maintaining the physical file.
Maintain the legal database and assist with the generation of the LAT tickler, LAT reports, statistical reports, including client statistics, e.g., quarterly reports and reports to the board of directors.
Maintain, update, complete and / or redesign LAT forms, templates, reports, and database-related documents, as needed, or assigned by the Legal Services Director.
Maintain a presence at the weekly LAT meeting and perform additional LAT duties, as assigned by the Legal Services Director.
Skills and Knowledge
Demonstrated professional clarity and effectiveness in expressive and written communication skills.
Proven accuracy and understanding of proofreading, preparing, and processing legal and non-legal documents and correspondence, such as pleadings, filings, reports, letters, mailings, and forms.
Accomplished typing and data entry skills.
Established intermediate level of computer skills.
Competence to independently follow through on multiple tasks.
Demonstrated commitment to people with disabilities.
Qualifications and Special Requirements
Four-year paralegal degree or two-year degree in paralegal studies, or a high school diploma / equivalent and a combination of four years of paralegal or administrative assistant work experience, training, or education relating to paralegal / legal assistance.
