The Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences at the University of California, Irvine invites applications for three tenure-track / tenured assistant, associate, or full professor positions, starting July 1, 2026.
One of only five computing-focused schools among Association of American Universities (AAU) members, UC Irvine's Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences is home to the departments of Computer Science, Informatics, and Statistics. The School's mission is to lead innovation in human-centered information and computing technologies, understand their economic and social significance, and develop an educated workforce to further advance technology. With approximately 4,000 undergraduates, 600 master's students, 400 doctoral students, 100 faculty members, and 85 staff, the School is the largest computing program within the UC system and one of the largest in the nation, providing exceptional opportunities for discovery and learning in all areas of information and computer sciences.

The UC Irvine Center for Machine Learning and Intelligent Systems connects more than thirty faculty and a broad range of other scientific fields. This search emphasizes the technical side of Human–Computer Interaction (HCI). We invite applicants whose scholarship has a strong technical emphasis, including, but not limited to, those who design and implement novel interaction techniques, build interactive systems and platforms, advance visualization or sensing technologies, conduct research on large-scale or real-time data, quantitatively or experimentally evaluate technology interventions, or develop emerging technologies such as AI-driven, data-intensive, or immersive systems from an HCI perspective.
