Responsibilities Work in the Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool, floating between the PICU, CTICU, and NICU units as needed Care for critically ill infants, children, and cardiac patients within Level I trauma, teaching hospital setting Responsibilities include day and night 12-hour shifts, with a combination of weekend and holiday requirements On-call duties are required Epic is used for charting, with required prior experience Travelers may float to satellite locations for NICU; mileage reimbursement is available Scrub color of any choice is permitted Deliver high-acuity nursing care across multiple pediatric critical care units Expected to work 2 out of 3 major holidays per contract, including holiday eves Rotating weekends with a set number of required day and night shifts; one full weekend per 4-week schedule is off Maximum of 6 days of requested time off allowed during the assignment, while still meeting the three-shift weekly requirement Modules must be completed pre-start but are not part of orientation hours Free parking is provided for travelers Permanent staff must wait one year before being eligible to travel Candidates previously marked DNR at CHOC are ineligible Travelers may be required to float within the hospital to meet operational needs Requirements Active CA RN license required Minimum 2 years of PICU or strong CTICU experience with prior floating Current BLS and PALS certifications are required Prior Epic EMR experience required Flu vaccination required prior to start Preferred candidates have prior travel or floating experience First-time travelers are accepted Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-614428.
