Plumber - Rotating Shifts - Weekends

The plumber performs routine maintenance on all plumbing equipment in the hospital complex. The plumber also fits valves, couplings, and other specified parts and fittings to pipe sections by screwing, bolting, or soldering. Attaches pipe assemblies to walls or ceilings with brackets or hangers. Installs plumbing fixtures, such as sinks, toilets, showers, medical gas equipment, oxygen, and suction systems, etc., and connects them to outlet and inlet pipes. Repairs plumbing fixtures, including worn washers, valves, etc. Solders and caulks leaks and broken pipes. Constructs minor metal work, such as strainers, shelves, and chart locks. Silver-solders and keeps all kitchen equipment in working orders. May be required to perform Tinsmith work as necessary. Performs routine preventive maintenance on all plumbing equipment. Maintains Mechanical Rooms. Cooperates with team members to resolve maintenance problems within the shop or area in an efficient and timely manner.

The shifts for the position are :

• Sunday : 8 : 00 am to 4 : 00 pm
• Monday to Thursday - 4 : 00 pm to 12 : 00 am

This is a full time rotating shifts position, Sunday through Thursday, located at NewYork-Presbyterian / Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.
