Overview
As an Industrial Engineer you will play a critical role in optimizing the layout and flow of manufacturing operations to maximize efficiency and reduce waste. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving production systems, focusing on the physical arrangement of processes and equipment to enhance productivity. This position involves working closely with cross-functional teams to improve workflows, integrate new technologies, and ensure the effective utilization of resources across the production facility. The role reports to the Vice President and General Manager of the Tulsa operation, with occasional travel for vendor selection, auditing, and equipment evaluations.
Key Responsibilities

- Layout Optimization : Analyze and optimize the physical layout of the production floor to improve workflow, reduce material handling time, and enhance overall efficiency in the manufacturing of air-cooled heat exchangers.
- Process Flow Design : Develop and implement strategies to streamline process flows, eliminating bottlenecks, and improving cycle times across all production stages.
- Continuous Improvement : Lead initiatives for continuous process improvement by evaluating and enhancing manufacturing operations through the application of lean principles and industry best practices. Focus on optimizing production flow, equipment usage, and personnel efficiency.
- Capacity Planning : Assess current production capacities and work with management to propose adjustments, equipment upgrades, or layout changes that accommodate future growth and demand fluctuations.
- Collaboration and Design Integration : Collaborate with the design and R&D teams to ensure new product designs are manufacturable with optimized production layouts and minimal disruption to existing operations. Ensure cost-effectiveness and manufacturability throughout the design process.
- Root Cause Analysis : Identify and analyze issues related to production inefficiencies, work with cross-functional teams to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Equipment Utilization : Monitor and improve equipment layout, ensuring maximum utilization and efficiency. Lead the planning and integration of new equipment, focusing on improving flow and minimizing downtime.
- Documentation and Standards Development : Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to process flows, layouts, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and other necessary guidelines to standardize operations.
- Cost Reduction and Efficiency : Implement cost-saving initiatives related to the production layout, equipment uses, and material handling. Focus on reducing waste while maintaining high product quality and performance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with production, quality assurance, and R&D teams to implement manufacturing solutions, optimize layouts, and resolve any issues related to product flow or equipment functionality.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Master\'s degree is a plus.5+ years of experience in industrial engineering or manufacturing optimization, preferably in a production environment.Strong knowledge of process layout optimization, workflow management, and production systems design.Familiarity with CAD / CAM software and other engineering tools for layout and process flow design.Experience with Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve inefficiencies.Excellent communication and teamwork skills, capable of working with multiple departments to achieve shared goals.Supervisor Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. This role uses standard office equipment. When in the manufacturing facility, all employees are required to wear personal protective equipment to include / hearing protection, and safety glasses with side shields, and OSHA compliant safety boots / shoes.

While the position primarily involves office work, it may involve occasional lifting of materials or documents up to 25-30 pounds. The role requires good vision for reviewing contracts and other documents, as well as the ability to communicate effectively in meetings. Physical stamina is needed for extended periods of sitting and walking.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
This is an exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7 : 00 a.m. to 4 : 00 p.m.
