The right candidate will be a proactive leader with solid experience in high-risk construction environments and a strong understanding of DOT-regulated fleet safety programs.

Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and help to enforce comprehensive safety policies and procedures and create a Safety-first culture throughout our organization. Accountability will be from top management to site management. Maintain and updates programs and policies.
- Collaborate with business partners from agencies and insurance companies to integrate risk management principles. Serve as liaison with regulatory agencies and insurance providers regarding risk management and loss mitigation matters.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, FMCSA, EPA, and other applicable safety regulations across construction and fleet operations.
- Lead job site inspections and safety audits, fleet inspections, hazard assessments, and compliance reviews.
- Conduct incident and accident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventative actions.
- Provide safety training to field crews, drivers, and supervisory staff including toolbox talks, onboarding sessions, and specialized fleet safety programs.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of training, inspections, audits, and incident reports.
- Collaborate with general managers, production managers, subcontractors, and production teams to develop and enforce safety protocols.
- Track and analyze safety performance metrics to identify trends, create reports, and make data-driven safety improvements.
- Oversee vehicle and equipment safety programs including inspection scheduling, driver qualification files, and compliance with vehicle maintenance standards.
- Support continuous improvement of the Safety Management System (SMS).
- Resolve questions, approve and / or recommend necessary expenditures to correct unsafe conditions.
- Maintains technical expertise, including membership in necessary professional organizations and attendance at training courses.
Qualifications :
Current Certified Safety Professional (CSP) credential or above strongly preferred. Equivalent experience or other safety credentials will be considered : CHST or safety-related certifications.Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.Minimum 5 years of experience in construction safety, with at least 2 years managing fleet or DOT-regulated operations. At least 1 year in a leadership role.Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, DOT / FMCSA regulations, and industry best practices. OSHA outreach trainer certified. (Current OSHA 500 and 510, advantage if have 501 and 511 certifications as well) -Proof of recent 502 or 503 updates or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.Proficient in incident investigation techniques, risk assessments, and job hazard analysis (JHA).Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to lead training sessions and present to all levels of staff.Competency with safety software platforms and Microsoft Office Suite, Procore or similar project management systems and safety learning management platforms strongly desired.Ability to travel to job sites in multiple states regularly and work in outdoor or construction environments and confined spaces.Work Environment :
Frequently works on active construction sites and around fleet operations.Must wear appropriate PPE and adhere to field safety protocols.May involve physical activities including walking uneven terrain, climbing, and standing for extended periods.Salary Range : $65,000 to $75,000 annually
