About the role

In this role, you will be a key leader in the global sales recruiting organization and own the hiring strategy for the Sales Development / Account Development segment. You will manage, develop, and retain a team of high-performing sales recruiters known for their talent consulting expertise and consistently meeting hiring demands. You will drive people, process, and technology improvements that aim to increase hiring efficiency and quality as Samsara scales. You will contribute to and lead global cross-functional projects and programs. You will partner regularly with cross-functional stakeholders on workforce planning. You will own key sales development stakeholder relationships. You will influence the sales development talent strategy by providing regular reporting and market insights to sales executives. You will enforce a compliant and inclusive recruiting approach.

This role is open to candidates residing in the Phoenix metro area. This is a hybrid position requiring 2 days per week in our Phoenix office. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this role.

In this role, you will

  • Build for the long term : Establish systems, processes, and an organizational design that improves hiring quality, process efficiency, and team productivity as the team and hiring demands scale.
  • Strategic workforce planning : Understand the businesses you support and proactively adjust talent strategy to changing customer needs.
  • Lead a high-performing recruiting team : Hire, develop, and lead a team of recruiters across full-cycle recruiting; embody Samsara Leadership principles.
  • Deliver results : Manage KPI achievement and tracking; lead key org-wide initiatives to improve outcomes.
  • Establish hiring quality feedback loops : Build partnerships with sales enablement, sales leadership, and people ops to continually improve hiring calibration and evaluation.
  • Raise the bar on assessment : Facilitate regular department training with hiring managers and interviewers.
  • Evangelize change : Influence sales org-wide change management through strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Partner on talent strategy : Collaborate on 3-year roadmapping with one-year milestones; manage pipeline activity and data integrity; provide data-centric updates to sales executives.
  • Role model operational excellence : Lead and coach others to identify opportunities, scope solutions, and deliver process improvements.
  • Be a culture champion : Embed Samsara's cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across offices.
  • Minimum requirements

  • 8+ years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in talent acquisition and 1+ year in people management or leadership
  • Proven track record of hiring, managing, and coaching a high-volume, quota-carrying sales recruiting team
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to extract insights from data; experience with Excel formulas and pivot tables
  • Proven ability to create and deliver presentations to an executive-level audience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Proven experience hiring for Sales Development / Business Development (high-volume sales positions)
  • Nice to have

    Experience in sales or a background transitioning from sales into recruiting is a plus, but not required.

    Salary range : $95,795 — $128,800 USD. Base pay offered may vary based on city, knowledge, skills, and experience.
