Job Description

As a Lab Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of products through precise testing and documentation. This position requires navigating a plant environment to collect liquid samples and performing various tests to ensure compliance with FDA and plant standards.

Responsibilities

• Navigate plant environment to obtain liquid samples from silos following FDA and plant standards.
• Test samples for PH, acidity, freezing point, viscosity, and solid / fat percentages using lab equipment and instruments.
• Document all findings meticulously with dates and signatures while maintaining a clean lab environment to prevent contamination.
• Ensure lab supplies are refilled and equipment is calibrated daily, adhering to FDA and plant standards.
• Multitask efficiently, including receiving phone calls from the dairy and various parts of the plant, to ensure products and samples meet specifications.

Work Environment

This position is onsite at the Elma facility, working in a manufacturing environment. Available shifts include the 2nd shift from 2pm to 10 : 30pm and the 3rd shift from 10pm to 6 : 30am. Flexibility is required as shifts may extend to 12 hours based on production and staffing needs, including potential 6-day workweeks.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.75 - $23.25 / hr.
