Position Overview :

Wearable Device for Treating Severe Dry Mouth

The purpose of the project is to design and manufacture a custom, proprietary "smart" device to stimulate saliva secretion. The device will look like a mouth guard (with embedded electronics). With this device, we will obtain permission to enroll a clinical study in 8 healthy subjects (Phase 1), followed by another study (Phase 2) with 10 or more patients who suffer from severe dry mouth. We will measure saliva secretion before and after stimulation.

Duties / Responsibilities :

100% :

• Engineering support for fabricating the prototypes ($9K in budget)

Appointment Details :

Price is based on 180 hours of engineering work to deliver a medical device for the project.

Hourly rate equal to $50 / hour, which falls under an average engineering consultant's hourly rate for Minnesota per multiple salary reporting services online.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range : $50.00 per hour; depending on education / qualifications / experience.

Work Location : Hybrid; 1 day in person / 4 days remote
