Nationwide Therapy Group is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

🏥 Stepdown RN – 12H Nights

📍 Facility Requirements

  • Location : CommonSpirit Health (includes CHI, Dignity Health, etc.)
  • Radius Rule :

    • Must live 50+ miles from facility (driver’s license required to verify)

  • Cannot be currently employed (FT, PT, or PRN) at any CommonSpirit facility in the past 12 months

    • ⏰ Schedule & Shift Info

  • Shift : 12-hour nights (18 : 30–07 : 00)
  • Hours : 36 guaranteed per week
  • Schedule Type : Cyclical
  • Weekends : Every other weekend
  • Holidays : 1 major + 1 minor
  • Orientation : 1 full 12-hour unit shift
  • Contract Length : 112 days (~16 weeks)

    • 📝 Onboarding & Policies

  • Open-Book Skills Exam during orientation (Friday)

    • Must score 90%+ to pass or contract will be terminated

  • Fingernail Policy : No artificial nails (must comply or will be terminated)
  • RTO Policy :

    • RTO must be declared upfront

  • No additional RTO allowed post-submission
  • Cancellation Policy : Facility may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week contract

    • 📄 Certifications Required

  • BLS (AHA only)
  • ACLS
  • NIHSS

    • 👩‍⚕️ Clinical Details

  • Unit : Stepdown
  • # of Beds : 22
  • Nurse : Patient Ratio : 1 : 4
  • Support Staff :

    • CNAs / PCTs : Yes (1 : 10 ratio)

  • Charge RN : Yes (has full assignment)
  • Tele Monitoring :

    • RNs must read and interpret strips

  • No tele / monitor techs
  • Common Diagnoses :

    • Heart failure, Afib, respiratory distress, stroke

  • Drip Management :

    • RNs titrate Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro

  • Respiratory Equipment :

    • CPAP; RNs troubleshoot but not responsible for vent settings

  • May float to ICU if experienced and appropriate
