Quality Engineer

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Oversight of OEM customer quality topics from project phase through to series production
  • Monitor and report relevant quality targets, work with other functions to identify and implement actions to maintain or improve performance
  • Handling and on-time resolution of customer complaints and claims in line with relevant requirements and standards using 8D-method according to WIMS QI and Q3 process
  • Prepare, conduct and document process audits (internal and external), implement actions to resolve non-conformances and ensuring efficiency
  • Prepare and implement capability and measurement capability studies to ensure process capability
  • Quality Engineer at an automotive plant manufacturing sunroofs tier 1 for multiple OEMs,
  • Manage PPAPs from new request to customer acceptance
  • Perform internal audits to IATF 16949 and VDA 6.3 standards to ensure compliance
  • Manage and perform FMVSS & ECE lab testing requirements
  • Create and maintain control plans and work instructions for all processes
  • Work with multiple OEM customers on supplier audits
  • Improve processes with Quality Tools and Lean Six Sigma principles
  • Process customer complaints through systematic problem solving
  • Lead scrap reduction projects on the production floor when necessary

Required Qualifications :

  • Must have over 3 years of experience working as a Quality Engineer in a Tier 1 Automotive plant or facility environment performing the above indicated responsibilities
  • Experience supporting glass glazing and polyurethane encapsulation processes highly desirable, but not mandatory
  • The ability to respond to input and direction from multiple cross functional departments
  • Expertise in automotive industry standards - Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Conflict resolution, communication and negotiation skills
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent / similar degree preferred
