A Brief Overview
This position is responsible for fully performing basic Medical Assistant duties.
What You Will Do
- Assist Orthopaedic Surgeons in setting specialized traction apparatuses and applying / removal of patient casts and splints
- Responsible for performing duties as first assistant to the orthopedic surgeons in the operating room
- Provides clinical support to physicians in outpatient clinics
- Educates patients and families on usage, precautions, and donning and doffing of orthopedic devices, casting, traction
- Provides age specific care to patients from neonates through elderly
- Performs non-patient care duties and cross coverage of other positions within the practice as assigned

Completion of a Medical Assistant Program (Required)Work Experience
1+ years of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant (Required)Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Able to communicate effectively with people from varied socioeconomic backgrounds. (Required proficiency)Able to organize changing work assignments. (Required proficiency)Medical terminology knowledge. (Preferred proficiency)Licenses and Certifications
