American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Metairie, Louisiana.

Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with Epic proficiency and a valid LA or compact license for a night shift assignment.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in the ICU within a hospital environment
  • Patient ratios are typically 1 : 2, occasionally flexing to 1 : 3
  • Required to float to all ICUs and may float to the ED or PACU to care for ICU patients; occasional floating to MS / PCU with a 1 : 4 ratio
  • Night shifts, 3x12 hours (19 : 00-07 : 30)
  • Four weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule
  • No call responsibilities
  • Utilizes equipment such as Alaris IV pumps, CADD PCA pumps, Servo I ventilators, Fresenius CRRT dialysis machines, Edwards Lifesciences cardiac monitors, Medtronic EVD management, Arctic Sun TMS, GE monitors, Hill Rom beds, Pyxis medication station, and Veratron bladder scanner
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Nurses are responsible for providing care to COVID-19 and isolation patients as needed
  • Knowledge of N95 mask size is required
  • Responsibilities include all lab draws, EKGs, and starting IV lines
  • Pre-start education modules must be completed prior to start
  • RTO is limited to a maximum of 5 days for the contract

  • Active LA or compact RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience
  • Certifications required : BLS, ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS (CPI can be obtained at the facility)
  • Experience with Epic EMR required
  • Must be able to perform lab sticks, EKGs, and line starts
  • Must live more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel status
  • Any previous permanent employee at an LCMC facility must have been gone for at least 1 year to be considered
