Position Mission

The Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) is a licensed dental professional whose scope of practice includes preventative, therapeutic, and educational services aimed at improving and maintaining patients oral health. In accordance with California law, the RDH performs clinical duties including prophylaxis, periodontal therapies, local anesthesia administration, and radiographs. The hygienist is a key contributor to patient care and collaborates closely with the dentist to develop and implement treatment strategies.

This position requires full compliance with the California Dental Practice Act, Dental Hygiene Board of California (DHBC) guidelines, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations, and all internal practice policies and procedures. All scope-of-practice duties are conducted under the supervision of a licensed dentist as required by California law.
