Shift Availability

This is a PRN position with a requirement of three scheduled shifts every six weeks, primarily during night hours (7 PM - 7 AM).

Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse in our Emergency Department, you will deliver patient-centered care through effective assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation practices. This role involves coordinating high-quality care and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a compassionate environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care consistent with organizational policies and nursing processes.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, documenting findings accurately and promptly reporting changes.
  • Provide age-appropriate care and patient education based on growth and development knowledge.
  • Administer medications and monitor for any side effects, adhering to best practice standards.
  • Assist physicians during medical procedures, ensuring safety and support within your competency level.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to create, implement, and review personalized care plans.
  • Respond to emergencies and participate in life-saving interventions such as CPR.
  • Advocate for patients' rights and needs, making sure they are heard in care decisions.
  • Educate patients and families on medical conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care.
  • Maintain infection control protocols to avoid healthcare-associated infections.
  • Monitor and operate medical equipment as necessary for patient care.
  • Prioritize patient safety by following National Patient Safety Goals and maintaining a safe environment.
  • Engage in audits and compliance checks to uphold standards of care.
  • Document all aspects of patient care thoroughly and efficiently.
  • Commit to continual professional development to ensure clinical competency.
  • Participate in initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes and enhancing care delivery.
  • Emergency Service Duties :
  • Quickly assess patients to determine care priorities based on the urgency of their conditions.

  • Perform emergency procedures, including intubation, wound care, and suturing.
  • Implement stabilizing interventions such as IV line insertion and medication administration.
  • Other duties as assigned and in compliance with organizational policies.
  • Qualifications

  • At least one year of clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting.
  • Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of nursing practices and the nursing process.
  • Capacity to perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings effectively.
  • Proficient in medication administration and monitoring of effects.
  • Excellent communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Strong organizational skills with a meticulous approach to patient care documentation.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and infection control practices.
  • Licenses and Certifications

  • Active RN License (State Licensure or Compact State Licensure).
  • BCLS certification required.
  • ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications preferred.
  • Refer to specific facility or unit guidelines for additional requirements.
