Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab Technologist with 2+ years of experience in cardiac and vascular procedures, ARRT or RCIS certification, and strong skills in both scrub and imaging roles.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in an acute care cardiac catheterization lab with 3 Cath / IR suites, 1 hybrid room, and 7 holding rooms
  • Typical caseload is approximately 16 cases per day covering PCI, diagnostic LHC / RHC, pacemaker implants, vascular, interventional radiology, mediports, dialysis catheters, and AAA stenting
  • Procedures utilize specialized equipment including impella, IABP, shockwave, IVUS, FFR, IFR, swans, and rotablator
  • Uses GE MacLab EMR with a planned switch to Philips Xper in 2026; charting is currently completed in Cerner Soarian
  • Three 12-hour day shifts per week (0530-1800), with varied weekday on-call and one weekend call every 2-3 weekends
  • Holiday call rotation may be required and call response time is 30 minutes
  • Team consists of 2 RNs and 2 techs per lab, with additional support from a charge nurse
  • No floating required
  • Duties include performing scrub or imaging roles during cath lab procedures, participating in a four-person team, and supporting complex cardiac and vascular interventions
  • Techs do not typically monitor or document on patients
  • 2-3 scheduled orientation shifts with a preceptor provided
  • Royal blue scrubs are provided
  • May be asked to participate in holiday call rotation
  • No local travelers accepted; must reside outside a 50-mile radius
  • Returning candidates must not have worked at a WVU Medicine location within the past 2 years and tenure as a traveler within WVU cannot exceed 1 year in total
  • \n \n Requirements\n

  • Minimum of 2 years of Cath Lab experience required
  • Must be proficient in both scrub and imaging roles
  • Current BLS (AHA) certification required
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification required
  • Experience with interventional radiology and peripheral vascular cases required
  • Experience with equipment such as impella, IABP, shockwave, IVUS, FFR, IFR, swans, and rotablator required
  • Familiarity with Cerner Soarian and GE MacLab EMR required; willingness to adapt to Philips Xper in the future
  • License required if applicable
