Summary

Conduct design work and provide programming for new and existing company products. Responsible for the accuracy and utility of all drawings. Assist in creation of O&M manuals. Programming and all design calculations required both for the initial design and subsequent production. Assist in trouble shooting field problems. Provide technical support to other departments in the company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for development and testing of standard programs for new product lines. Also responsible for maintenance of existing products and incorporating future enhancements.
• Responsible for development and testing of programs for new pilots and pilot systems. This includes wet testing and functional / performance testing.
• Help prepare and review electrical drawing packages for new pilots and standards for new products.
• Responsible for supporting repairs and changes to the existing pilot fleet; as some test sites require specials to be added to a pilot which then must later be removed.
• Review / Revise Operation and Maintenance manuals for new products and pilots.
• Review and approve changes to electrical drawings and electrical parts.
• Work with vendors to locate new components and obtain quotes.
• Maintain records, standard programs and Engineering Standards Manual.
• Provide technical support to R&D, Product Management, Customer Service, Manufacturing, Sales (incl. Aftermarket Sales), and customers.
• Given a set of design criteria, conceptualizes and creates new products to meet the criteria.

knowledge, skills and abilities

Must be proficient with MS Office Software. Strong programming, documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Usual office working conditions with moderate noise such as computers and printers, telephones and copy machines. Exposure to elements such as odor, noise, dust, heat, cold, and / or chemicals.

Minimum qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and a minimum of 3 years of related training and experience or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
