STEAM / ROBOTICS LEGO Teacher in Union and Essex County NJ

Working Location : You will work at one or multiple locations based on your preference in Summit and the surrounding area.

Working Hours : You will be assigned classes from Mon - Fri during the time range of 3PM - 6PM.

The primary focus of this position will be to teach Snapology programs. Programs are conducted for children ages 5 - 9. Curriculum and thorough training are provided to assure that you are prepared to teach any topic. This role requires collaboration and communication with Snapology management as well as representing the Snapology organization to parents & children with a high degree of professionalism.

Role & Responsibilities :

• Lead groups of up to 14 students through curriculum-guided activities;
• Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment;
• Travel to our various partners with class materials (LEGO bricks, iPads, Laptops, etc.);
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing classroom rules and cleanup procedures; maintain the cleanliness and organization of the class material;
• Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of Snapology;
• Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use the information to adjust teaching strategies;
• Adequately prepare for each program by reading the curriculum, watching training videos, and / or participating in face-to-face training sessions;
• Encourage students & parents to enroll students in future Snapology programs;
• Participate in periodic Snapology training & staff meetings.

Program Timing :

This position is part-time . Depending on availability, teachers typically work between 5 - 15 hours per week. Teachers can choose the following programs to teach around their schedules :

Compensation : $40.00 - $60.00 per hour.
