About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Shift : 7 pm - 7 am

Hours per Shift : 36 hours per week

Experience : 2 years in Progressive Care Unit or Stepdown, Previous neuro experience required

License : RN license, IN or compact license

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Must-Have :

• 2 years of Progressive Care Unit or Stepdown experience
• Previous neuro experience
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• NIHSS certification (can obtain before start)

Description :

The position involves general nursing duties focused on Neuro Stepdown / Progressive patients.

Drip titration is required for experienced nurses; otherwise, staff will float to MedSurg / tele units.

The unit utilizes EPIC, PYXIS, Philips defibrillator, and Philips Bedside Monitors.

The nurse to patient ratio is 3-4 : 1 in Progressive Care and 4-5 : 1 in MedSurg.

Employees will never work alone and must complete three weekend shifts within a 4-week schedule.

Floating to like units is required when needed.

When floated to MedSurg, the nurse will maintain a 1 : 3 patient ratio.

Travelers must participate in a training program, which includes unit-specific orientation.

Previous neuro experience is required for this position.
