Responsibilities

Join Baker Tilly as a Tax Manager-NFP with our Irvine team. This is a great opportunity to be a valued advisor delivering tax and business advisory services and tax compliance to nonprofit clients. You will work side-by-side with firm leadership to serve clients and help further their mission, having a direct impact on the firm’s success. You will coach a group of staff, utilizing your experience to help develop their technical and professional skills. Candidates highly preferred to be in California.

What You Will Do

  • Be a trusted member of the team providing tax and advisory services to various nonprofits
  • Review and analyze nonprofit tax returns, provide analysis and consultation, and communicate with clients about best practices in nonprofit tax reporting
  • Deliver best-in-class customer service to clients, with emphasis on responsiveness, timeliness, professionalism and accuracy
  • Lead and plan client engagements, evaluating processes and procedures to implement efficiencies and best practices in tax reporting
  • Manage and build client relationships, address client issues, and assist leaders in researching and offering additional services
  • Delegate and oversee work by setting goals, providing resources, removing obstacles, and scheduling deadlines to meet client expectations
  • Maintain knowledge of federal and state nonprofit tax laws and regulations
  • Network and build strong relationships with clients and the community
  • Invest in professional development through firm-wide learning programs
  • Support the growth and development of team members through Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy
  • Successful Candidates Will Have

  • CPA or JD required
  • Five (5)+ years of experience providing federal tax compliance, preferably in nonprofit tax
  • Two (2)+ years of supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated management, analytical, organizational, interpersonal, project management and communication skills
  • Ability to lead and supervise others, provide exceptional client service, and stay current with applicable strategies and ethics
  • Strong software and Microsoft Suite skills
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship preferred
  • For California, Colorado, New York and Washington : The compensation range for this role is $91,220 to $172,950. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
